Which Enclosure System
Is Right for You?

Three Gungho enclosure systems — each built for a different situation. The same quality, different form factors. Answer one question and you'll know which one fits your setup in under 60 seconds.

One question. Three answers.

Situation A
My garage needs to keep parking a car

The simulator can't be permanent — the car needs the space at least sometimes. You need to set up and pack down without it being a 20-minute ordeal.

→ Retractable System
Situation B — Most common
I have a dedicated space and want the simulator to stay set up

Dedicated garage bay, basement, spare room. The simulator stays assembled permanently. Nothing to set up between sessions — walk in, hit, walk out.

→ DIY Enclosure Kit
Situation C
I'm building a permanent room or doing a renovation

New construction, a renovation, or a purpose-built room where the screen is part of the architecture. Custom sizing, flush wall installation, professional finish.

Gungho Retractable Screen System

The screen deploys from a ceiling-mounted housing in 30 seconds and retracts fully when not in use. The garage functions normally. The simulator experience is identical to a permanent setup — same screen, same projector alignment, every time.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The retractable system's ceiling mount stays in place and the screen housing comes down. The DIY enclosure kit then installs as a separate system in the same space — the two don't conflict. Many builders start with the retractable to confirm they'll use the setup regularly, then upgrade to the permanent DIY kit once that's confirmed. The retractable can be moved to a new position or stored once the permanent build is done.
Yes. All three Gungho systems include a premium woven impact screen — the same three-layer construction, the same 250 mph ball speed rating, the same bright white projection surface. The difference between the systems is the mounting and frame approach, not the screen itself. The DIY kit screen is matched to the frame size and tensioned within the enclosure. The retractable screen is the same material on a motorised or manual housing. The built-in screen is custom sized and wall-mounted with a tensioning frame.
The DIY Enclosure Kit in one of the bays. A standard 20 ft two-car garage gives you roughly 10 ft per bay — enough for a 8-9 ft wide enclosure with side clearance on each side. The simulator bay has the permanent frame, screen, and netting. The car parks in the other bay as normal. This is the most popular setup for two-car garage builds — the car never conflicts with the simulator. See the garage golf simulator ideas guide for exactly this build.
Yes — none of the enclosure systems include a hitting mat. The enclosure and screen handle ball containment and the projection surface. The hitting mat is a separate purchase. We recommend the Holy Grail Hitting Strip (installs into a rubber tile platform) or the Holy Grail Hitting Mat (complete one-piece solution). For retractable setups, the 4×9 ft mat rolls out in 30 seconds and stores cleanly between sessions — it pairs particularly well with the retractable system. See the hitting mats collection →
No — the Built-In Screen Kit includes the screen, wall-mount tensioning system, and hardware, but not a freestanding enclosure frame. The screen mounts directly to a framed wall opening in your room — either an existing opening or one you build as part of a renovation. The kit is for rooms where the screen is recessed into the wall like a built-in fixture. If you want a freestanding frame that assembles without wall modification, the DIY Enclosure Kit is the right choice.
