Pre-cut pipes: worth it for most builders. The pre-cut option adds $500–$600 and saves 2–3 hours of measuring, marking, and cutting EMT conduit on assembly day. Pipes arrive labeled and ready to connect — no pipe cutter, no measuring errors. If you've never cut conduit before or want assembly to go smoothly the first time, choose pre-cut. If you're experienced with DIY builds and want to save the money, the standard option includes everything except the cut pipes.

What you're actually buying: A complete enclosure system — steel frame, impact screen, side netting, top netting, ball bungees, fittings, and all mounting hardware — in one kit. The impact screen alone typically costs $300–$700 purchased separately. The Gungho kit includes it, making the total cost competitive with buying frame and screen individually from different suppliers.

Why the Gungho

Built for Real Home Simulator Use

The enclosure is the component that defines how your simulator looks, how safely your space is contained, and how the impact screen performs on every shot. Here's what matters about the Gungho specifically.

  • 🖼

Premium woven impact screen included — not a budget net

The Gungho kit includes a premium woven impact screen, not a basic practice net. The difference matters: an impact screen is specifically designed to project a clear image from a projector while absorbing ball impact without excessive bounce-back. It's what makes your setup look and feel like a real simulator rather than a backyard practice station. Buying the screen and enclosure separately from different suppliers often costs more and creates compatibility headaches — the Gungho solves both in one kit.

  • 🛡

Full side and top containment — protects the room, not just the screen

The Gungho system includes side netting and top containment in addition to the impact screen. This is the safety component most buyers overlook until they've hit their first shank into the garage wall. At real golf swing speeds, errant shots carry significant energy sideways — side netting catches them before they reach walls, cars, windows, or people standing nearby. Top containment handles high-arc shots that clear the screen. This full containment system is what separates a safe indoor installation from one that's waiting for an incident.

  • 🔧

Steel frame with EMT conduit — rigid, stable, proven construction

The Gungho frame uses EMT conduit — the same material trusted by the DIY simulator community for over a decade. EMT is lightweight enough for one or two people to handle during assembly, rigid enough to stay square under repeated ball impact, and widely available at hardware stores if you ever need to replace a section. The fittings and connectors included in the kit are specifically designed for golf simulator frame loads — not generic pipe fittings that can loosen over time.

  • 📐

5 sizes from 8 ft to 16 ft — fits most residential spaces

The five size options span from a tight 1-car garage single-bay setup (8 ft wide) to a full immersive 16 ft wide installation that covers nearly any room. Each size comes with an appropriately scaled screen, netting, and frame — not a one-size-fits-all screen in a different frame. The 12 ft × 9 ft option is the most popular because it fits most 2-car garage bays and 15–18 ft wide rooms with comfortable side clearance while giving a genuinely immersive projection surface.

  • Designed for DIY installation — full instructions included

The Gungho kit is designed for self-installation by two adults with basic tools. Full setup instructions are included, and the pre-cut pipe option eliminates the most technically demanding part of the build. Most two-person teams complete the full assembly in 3–5 hours. The frame design uses standard connector fittings throughout — nothing proprietary that requires special tools or manufacturer support to modify or extend.

Will This Fit Your Room?

Room Requirements at a Glance

Too Small
Under 12 ft wide
The 8 ft enclosure won't fit with safe swing clearance.
✓ Fits Well
12–18 ft wide
10–14 ft enclosure options with good side clearance.
Premium Setup
18 ft+ wide
14–16 ft enclosure for a fully immersive wide-screen experience.
The 2.5 ft rule: Subtract 2.5 ft from each side of your room width to find the maximum enclosure width that fits comfortably. A 14 ft wide room fits up to a 9 ft enclosure. A 16 ft wide room fits up to an 11 ft enclosure. Ceiling height minimum is 9 ft for the 8 ft models and 10 ft for the 9–9.6 ft models.
Measure before ordering: The enclosure cannot be easily returned once assembled. Confirm your room width, depth, and ceiling height before choosing a size. Use our room configurator if you're unsure — it takes 60 seconds and prevents the most common and most expensive mistake.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The impact screen is included in every Gungho kit at every size. This is one of the key advantages of the Gungho system over buying a frame kit and screen separately. The screen is sized and matched specifically to the enclosure frame dimensions — it's not a generic screen dropped into a box.
Pre-cut pipes arrive measured and labeled for your specific enclosure size — ready to connect without any cutting, measuring, or marking. The cost difference is $500–$600. If you have experience cutting EMT conduit and want to save the money, standard is fine. If this is your first build, you don't own a pipe cutter, or you want assembly to go smoothly without measuring errors, pre-cut is worth the premium. Most first-time builders choose pre-cut.
A standard 2-car garage is 18–22 ft wide and 20–24 ft deep. The 12 ft wide enclosure is the most popular choice for 2-car garages — it fits comfortably with 3+ feet of side clearance in an 18 ft bay, gives a genuinely immersive projection surface, and leaves room for a car in the second bay if needed. If your garage is 20+ ft wide and you want maximum screen size, the 14 ft option is worth considering. Use our room configurator to confirm before ordering.
Yes — the Gungho enclosure is compatible with all major launch monitors. Camera-based monitors (Bushnell Launch Pro, Foresight GC3) mount beside the hitting position and don't require any specific enclosure clearance. Radar-based monitors (Garmin R10, FlightScope Mevo Gen 2) need 8+ ft of depth behind the ball — confirm your total room depth provides that space before choosing your enclosure depth. The overhead Uneekor EYE XO2 requires a ceiling mount above the enclosure — confirm your ceiling height allows for the mount hardware above the frame.
For the pre-cut option: a cordless drill, Phillips head bits, and a ladder are all you need. For the standard option: add a pipe cutter or hacksaw to cut the EMT conduit to length. All fittings, connectors, hardware, and instructions are included. A level and tape measure are useful for positioning the frame correctly before assembly — have both on hand before you start.
Inspect all components before signing the delivery receipt. Note any damage — including to packaging — on the receipt before signing, then contact us immediately with photos. Every order is fully insured. Missing or damaged components are resolved with replacements — you don't need to return the full kit for a partial issue. Contact us right away and we'll sort it out.
